Mapping standards and regulations using Hailey

Compliance mapping is one of Hailey's introductory features and remains one of the most foundational. It allows users to map two different frameworks or authority documents (such as standards and regulations) and determine the level of similarity between their requirements. Today we're going to explore this capability in depth and showcase how it helps organizations manage complex regulatory obligations and achieve compliance with different laws and standards.

How does Hailey map standards and regulations? 

On the 6clicks platform, users can access the built-in Content Library where they can download the latest standards and regulations. Upon adding authority documents to their Compliance module, users can go into a specific framework, navigate to the Mappings tab, and then click Map provisions to start the compliance mapping process with Hailey.

Users can then select another standard or regulation they would like to compare to the framework and Hailey will proceed to scan the two documents and match the requirements or provisions between them. After the scan is complete, Hailey will provide a similarity score and all the matched provisions will then be displayed under the Mappings tab for you to check. You can also view more details for each matched provision to be able to understand their comparison on a deeper level.

What does this mean for risk and compliance professionals?

This capability means that organizations will no longer have to spend hours manually comparing authority documents because they can now do it in seconds with Hailey. Organizations will be able to easily assess their compliance with one framework against another, ensuring accuracy through analysis and matching at the requirement level.

Compliance mapping through Hailey also enables users to:

• Determine the level of compliance gap based on the similarity percentage between an authority document they already comply with and a new framework they wish to adopt
  
• Identify provisions that do not match completely (in both, but different) as well as provisions that are unique to each framework (in the source only)
• Map implemented controls to specific provisions within a framework
